RESOURCES
Current CMIDD resources focus on three main areas: Chemical Synthesis, Compound Purification, and Molecular Design. These capabilities are being developed to help catalyze hit-to-lead and drug discovery processes to enable the development of biological discoveries into small molecule therapeutics.
Chemical Synthesis Resource
- Equipment for serial and parallel synthesis including small- to medium-sized libraries
- Capability to synthesize molecular probes up to 10’s of grams
- Robotics for sample clean-up (SPE) and parallel library reaction set up
Chemical Purification Resource
- High Throughput Agilent-based mass directed purification system and medium throughput preparative HPLC with integrated UV-Vis and ELS detection
- State of the art parallel compound drying systems
- Dedicated robotics for compound reformatting and assignment of desired compounds to assay-ready configurations
Molecular Design Resource
- Developing an integrated Pipeline Pilot-based cheminformatics workflow
- Effective communication of information between biologists, computational chemists, and medicinal chemists is a high priority
- Application of virtual screening and in-silico chemistry will be used to multiply the productivity of biologists and chemists
